Investigators

This week was a good one. We wrapped up Christmas stuff and now we are back to the work. Tomorrow we are going to call a lot of people who have been busy with the holidays. They all said to call after new years so tomorrow is the day!

We got 4 more new investigators this week! That is 14 this transfer I think. We are meeting a lot of people. A lot of our current investigators were busy this week with the holidays. That provided us with a lot of time to knock doors and find. We used that time well and we have found many potential investigators.

We have been going through our records as well and we have come back into contact with a few former investigators. Things are looking very promising. We are in the beginning stages of a lot of these situations but I am excited to see where it goes.

Lupe is one of those new investigators this week. We knocked on her door on Tuesday this past week and she said we could come back Thursday. We did and she tried to turn us away. She said she was Catholic and had been her whole life and wasn't interested. Elder Dutson talked our way in though and we taught a lesson to her and her 11 year old son. She isn't terribly promising... Oh well. She said she would read but I doubt she will. Who knows.

The other 2 investigators we got this week were Heidi and Vivianna. They are former investigators. They have been taught for a couple years now but we just got back into contact with them. Her mom is a convert of about 12 years and she promised her mom she would attend church this week. So she did. And we are going to try and go see her later tonight. She has family that is LDS and she is way nice. I could see her being baptized, she just needs to open her mind to it and make time for us to come over and talk to her. She came to church once and she should come again next week. That's more than we usually get

We taught Josiah again this week. We taught him the plan of salvation and he loved it! He is talking more and more about the possibility of "becoming Mormon". People are giving him a hard time about it all. They wonder why he is meeting with Mormon missionaries, but that just makes him more interested. He wonders why people trash on a church that they know nothing about. We answer all these questions he has and loves it. We told him about the 3 degrees of glory and showed him 1 Cor 15:40-41 and he got way excited and wrote it all down so he could go home and show his wife. He was amazed that the words Celestial and Terrestrial were in the bible. He was way excited. He loves meeting with us and he asks so many questions. He is the best investigator ever. The lessons with him are the greatest. Its just taking awhile because he can only meet with us once every other week. We need to meet with him more. And put him on date!

The Hansen's were having some family issues this week so we weren't able to see them. Mark's daughters were being stupid or something. I dunno. But they didn't come to church. We will see them soon.

Ummmm... That is all.

If you ever get the chance, read Douglas L. Callister's talk "Your Refined Heavenly Home". That talk is mind-blowing. It changed my life! Good talk. Live it. Love it.

I got hugged by a drunk guy who told us he was Jesus Christ. He asked us what we were doing. We told him we were around talking about Jesus and he said "WELL YOU"RE LOOKING AT HIM!" yeah.... False prophet. then he gave me a hug and slobbered all over me. That was sweet. I think I'm in love.

Transfers are next week. We get the call this Saturday. So everyone send crap to:

Elder Chase Paxman
Washington Kennewick Mission
8656 W Gage Blvd Ste #205
Kennewick, WA 99336

I don't know if I'm leaving but I may. In which case you shouldn't send stuff to Betty's house anymore. I might leave... That's weird. All I know is Yakima. I'll let you know in a week.

Love you all!

Love,
Elder Paxman
